His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej acceded to the Throne on 9 June 1946, becoming the Ninth King of the Chakri Dynasty . 9 June 2006 marks the historic and most auspicious occasion of the 60 th Anniversary of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne which is the longest reigning monarch in the world. Throughout the year, Thai citizens join together as one to pledge their everlasting allegiance to their most esteemed and beloved monarch, in profound gratitude for His Majesty’s unparalleled devotion to this land and its people.
The most memorable event is that the Royal Thai Government invited twenty eight Monarchs of other reigning monarchs from around the world to attend the Celebrations of the 60 th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.
In this special occasion, Original Gallery Siam is proud to be selected by the Foreign Affair Ministry as the sole provider of Thai paintings as special mementos for foreign Monarchs attending the ceremony of the 60 th anniversary of His Majesty King’s accession to the throne.
